Roku Setup Guide
Step 1: Connect your Roku device to the TV
This is the first and foremost step. Connect your Roku device and TV via HDMI cable. We highly recommend you to use the HDMI cable. In case if your TV or monitor doest have an HDMI slot, you can use a converter. For instance, if you are connecting your Roku device to a VGA supported monitor, you can use a converter. Since HDMI is a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal, you need a digital to analog convertor.
Step 2: Connect the power adapter
Now you need to connect the power adapter. Roku has two types of power adapters. If you are using the latest Roku streaming stick, your device equipped with a USB Type C Power slot. Or else it will have around power adapter similar to the router. Connect the power adapter and turn the power supply on.
Step 3: Change the input method
Now depending on the input source, you had used, change the source on your TV. Now you will see the welcome screen of Roku. If not, try adjusting your input cable and power cable. To change the settings you need to pair the remote to your Roku device.
Step 4: Pair the Remote
To pair the remote, insert two AAA sized batteries and follow the on-screen instructions. It will ask you to press the reset button on the back of the remote for quite a few seconds. Now your remote will be paired to the Roku streaming stick. Follow the on-screen instructions to set the default language.
Step 5: Set up the internet connection
Next, you need to set up an internet connection. We highly recommend you to use the wired connection. Connect the LAN cable (RJ45) from your router to the Roku device. You can also use, Wifi to connect to the internet. If you are planning to use Wifi, select set up a new wireless connection. And enter the password to connect to the network.
Step 6: Install Updates
Now your Roku device is connected to the internet, it will install some updates. Depending on the device you are using, the time may vary. Wait till the updates are installed. During this process, your device may restart several times. Once your device is updated, you will find yourself in the Roku Homescreen.
Step 7: Link your Device to your account
Its time to link your device to your account! Go to the Roku’s official site and create a new account. Or login to the existing one, if you already have one! Now select “Activate a Device” and enter the code shown on your TV. Now your TV will be added to your account.
Step 8: Add channels to your Roku
Technically this is the last step. Now you need to add channels to your Roku for streaming content. You can navigate to the Roku channel store and browse for any channel, say Netflix or prime video. Select the channel once its found, and hit “add channel”. Your channel will be added to your Roku streaming device. Likewise, you can add all your favorite channels.
Step 9: Enjoy Streaming unlimited contents
